How does it work?

The herbs are made into a mixture, they are combined with a concentrated water and calming foam.

The solution is then scrubbed/massaged into the skin’s surface.

The herbs will penetrate through the skin’s surface and work their way to your blood stream.

Whilst travelling through the skin layers, the herbs will work on detoxing the skin by removing any excess oils and bacteria. The impurities will be drawn out through your body’s lymphatic system over the following days.

The herbs work on restoring the natural pH balance of the skin – without stripping the skin of it’s key nutrients and natural oils (unlike prescribed antibiotics or chemical peels).

Once the herbs have been completely absorbed by the skin and body, the top layer of the dead/damaged skin will begin to dry out and eventually peel off. In turn, this promotes new skin cell turnover.

With each layer that is peeled back, a new layer of skin is exposed. Each new layer being less damaged, scared, pigmented, and problematic than the last!

A course of 3-6 treatments 4-8 weeks apart will clear the skin by working on removing the bacteria internally, whilst replenishing and resurfacing the skin externally.

You can expect roughly 10-35% reduction in skin concern after 1 session

What plants/herbs are used?

Here are a few of the key ingredients that help to restore your skin:

  • Pansy – targets excess sebum
  • Horsetail – wound healing, antibacterial, encourages collagen
  • Lungwort – antioxidant
  • Marigold (calendula oil) – soothing, healing, relieving, antibacterial
  • Aloe Vera – soothing, calming
  • Ribwort – reduces inflammation
How do I prepare for my peel?

ALL will be explained in first initial Assessment/Consultation, however please keep the below in mind:

DAY 3: SKIN WILL START TO FLAKE/ PEEL. CERTAIN AREAS WILL PEEL SOONER THAN OTHERS.

DAY 4: SKIN WILL CONTINUE TO PEEL. A FRESH LAYER WILL BE EXPOSED AND VISIBLE.

DAY 5-7: YOU ARE ABLE TO WASH YOUR SKIN AGAIN. HOWEVER, ENSURE YOUR PRODUCTS ARE GENTLE!

Ensure you are using your aftercare provided.

You can expect to experience: Redness, Rashes, Purging, Swelling, Itching, Dryness, Darkening, Sensitivity, Swollen glands. These are normal side effects after a herbal green peel treatment. You can take antihistamine tablets & paracetamol or similar to help relieve any itching & irritation.

What happens between sessions?

From day 3-7 you are able to wash your skin again. Yay!

However, your new skin is new! So we need to treat it that way.

It makes sense to remove any active/harsh products from your routine, whilst undergoing herbal peels.

We will have discussed your home care / maintenance routine to ensure it is safe to use between appointments, that is suits your skin and matches your goals that you want to achieve, as well as effectively targeting your concerns.

You will either stick to what you know works, or we together will have created a new basic plan for you to follow.

You will follow this basic stripped back routine for 3-5 weeks until your next appointment.

If you are targeting a skin concern: 3-6 treatments are recommended at 3-5 week intervals.

If you are having top-up maintenance sessions, these are recommended at 8-12 week intervals.
